- 20-ounce can crushed pineapple in 100 percent pineapple juice
How to Make a Simply Divine Low-Fat Pineapple Angel Food Cake
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Use a 9 x 13 glass or metal pan. A springform or cupcake pan can also be used.
- Combine the dry angel food cake mix with entire can of pineapple in a large mixing bowl. Use all the juice. For a smoother consistency, pineapple can also be pureed. Do not add oil or water. Do not use pineapple in heavy syrup as it will add calories to this recipe.
- Mix until all ingredients are well moistened.
- Pour mixture into pan and bake according to directions on the box or until top is lightly brown. A toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake will come out clean when the cake is done.
- Cool completely.

- Mix whipped topping and drained pineapple in bowl. Add coconut to taste.
- Spread low-fat frosting mixture over cooled cake.
