Free Thanksgiving Activities for Children

  • CarlsCorner Pilgrim Pilgrim Mini Book - Cherry Carl, a retired school teacher, has assembled an artistic website created especially for teachers. The Pilgrim Pilgrim Mini Book is a rhyming Thanksgiving story that can be read online or printed out. To make the mini booklet, simply cut out the printed pages along the bold black line then staple the pages together. Adobe Acrobat is required (free download).
  • BillyBear4Kids Tiny Titles - Children create their very own Thanksgiving story with BillyBear4Kids Tiny Titles. Print the pages, cut and staple to make the tiny booklet. Write an original story on the lines provided.
  • ABCTeach My Thanksgiving Book - Creativity and originality are paramount in this online craft project. Children can add photographs and pictures or write personal memories or thankful comments in this 5-page printable booklet. Adobe Acrobat is required (free download).
  • FamilyFun.Go Thanksgiving Hand-print Turkey - The Family Fun Thanksgiving Hand-print Turkey is a fun interactive activity. Print the picture then place palm of hand on the legs of the turkey. For the turkey's body, carefully trace the outline of the hand and fingers then draw in the eyes and beak with crayons or marker. Add turkey feathers by using crayons, markers or construction paper.   • BHG Turkey Card - This holiday project from Better Homes & Gardens is for older children or requires adult assistance. A variety of materials are needed to complete this cute Thanksgiving card. Download the template and read directions to complete. Registration is required.
  • ABCTeach Thanksgiving Postcards - Print these Thanksgiving holiday postcards on card stock paper. There are 2 postcards per page and Adobe Acrobat is required (free download).

Print out the “I Give Thanks” slips, then cut out all 15 squares, adding a personalized message on each square. Paste onto construction paper, poster board, or place on top of dinner plate.   • FamilyFun.Go Thanksgiving Day Bingo - Thanksgiving Day Bingo is a fun holiday game for the entire family. To play, print out all five bingo cards. Cut the fifth bingo card along the dotted lines and place the cut out squares in a hat or box to be drawn out by one of the players. As the squares are called out, place a jelly bean, coin or other token on top of the bingo card. For added strength, laminate the cards or cover with clear contact paper.
