Crockpot Cheesy Potatoes Recipe
This delicious crockpot dish uses a few simple ingredients and takes just minutes to prepare. This recipe can be doubled very easily as well.
Ingredients:
- 16-ounce package frozen hash browns or shredded potatoes - do not thaw
- 8-ounce container sour cream
- 1 jar Cheese Whiz
- Seasoning
*Instead of using sour cream, add a bit of zing to the dish by substituting a container of French Onion dip or container of Ranch dip.
*Velveeta cheese can be used in place of Cheese Whiz.
Directions:
- Lightly grease inside of crockpot.
- Spoon cheese and sour cream mixture into bottom of pot.
- Add frozen potatoes on top of cheese mixture.
- Cover.
- Stir mixture only once to avoid mushy potatoes.
- Cook on high for approximately 75 minutes or until potatoes are completely cooked.
- Season to taste.
Mom’s Easy Cheesy Potatoes Recipe
Ingredients:
- 32-ounce package frozen hash browns, thawed
- 10-ounce can condensed cream of chicken or celery soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 8 ounces shredded cheese
- 2 cup crushed crackers
- 1/2 stick melted butter or margarine
- Seasoning
*Crushed corn flakes can be substituted for crackers.
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, mix soup and sour cream.
- Add cheese and thawed potatoes.
- Stir until mixture is blended.
- In a separate bowl, combine crushed crackers or corn flakes with butter.
- Lightly spray 13 x 9 baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Pour potato mixture into greased dish.
- Top with crushed crackers or flakes and butter mixture.
- Cover with aluminum foil.
- Bake approximately 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes until completely heated.
- Season to taste.
