Jace Shoemaker-Galloway - JSG

+JaceShoemaker-Galloway is more than passionate about online safety awareness. She has devoted and dedicated over five years to Internet Safety education by spear-heading online safety awareness not only in her local elementary school, but entire region. She was named Regional Office of Education #26 Internet Safety Coordinator, a position created specifically for her. The position later expanded to cover two entire regions.

In 2010, Jace was appointed by the Illinois Attorney General’s Office to the Board of Directors for the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority. In 2008, she was also asked to be a member of the National Council for Netsmartz Workshop advisory panel. Netsmartz Workshop is a division of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

As Internet Safety Coordinator:

• She developed unique online safety curriculum for second and third grade students
• Over 1,200 elementary students have completed her online safety awareness curriculum
• Has developed and implemented presentations for parents and educators
• Was Chairperson of the Macomb Online Safety Team (M.O.S.T) comprised of community leaders
• Created an Internet Safety educational resource blog for parents, teachers and law enforcement, voted Best Educational Blog for 2007

Jace works with 600 children in a computer lab environment every week. As a member of the Technology Department, she assists faculty, staff and students with various technological needs. She was also the webmaster of the Macomb Junior High School website. She has various technology certificates and continues her education - all online of course.

Jace is also a busy freelance writer, newspaper columnist, Feature Writer and Topic Editor for Suite101's Internet section. She is also the National Holidays, People in the News and Working Moms Examiner and a regular contributor for Energy Boom and Blissfully Domestic.

Jace has two children who currently attend college.
